Family Math #10
Number Juggling
Use each number 1-8. Place a different number in each box so that no two consecutive numbers are touching, even at the corners. For example, the box with 5 cannot touch the box with 4 or 6.
The Questions:
1. Complete the puzzle above.
Done.
2. Which family member did you work with? Is there a reason why you chose that family member?
My Mom and I worked together. We have fun doing this project.
3. How did you go about solving the problem? In other words, what did you try first? What did you try next? Did you use coins to help you? Who offered suggestions? (This should be at least three sentences long and include your process)
We thought about the numbers and realized that 1 & 8 had only one number to worry about not touching. So we put them in the middle, then we scattered the other numbers around as far from their partner number as possible. Had to erase the first couple tries then it came together.
4. Did you try anything that didn’t work? If so, what was it (be specific)
Tried to skip the numbers every other one around the shape but that did not work.
5. What did you enjoy most about this process and what did you find to be the most challenging or frustrating (be specific).
Finding the answer and solving the problem.
